Dear Hancock Park Elementary friends and families,

Over the years, HPE has grown into a vibrant community with unique interests, inspiring ideas, and important objectives. We’re proud that we’ve created an environment where ALL kids can feel supported and inspired by the people and programs around them!

“Scholars, Ready!” is more than just a phrase our kids join in repeating each day at school. It’s a commitment their teachers and school staff make, to prepare them for lives of purpose. It’s a promise that we – the friends and families of HPE – can and must do our part to honor.

Sadly, the standard level of funding from LAUSD isn’t enough to cover some of the school’s basic needs like:

  • Physical Education and after school programming through Got Game

  • Aides for the classroom

  • Classroom supplies and tech updates

Enrichment programs are only possible through our annual contributions, such as:

  • Special music, art, theater, and science programs

  • Field trips that are as educational as they are fun

  • State of the art Science and STEAM lab

To close this year’s funding gap, we’re asking for your help to raise $250,000

Please consider a financial contribution that’s personally significant to you. You can also boost our campaign by sharing it with family, friends, and local business owners (since we all know it truly “takes a village”)! And, if you live in Park La Brea, your gift will go even further thanks to a pledged match from PLB Management! (this is for ALL residents, so talk to your neighbors too!)

We know your time, energy, attention, and funds are precious resources facing constant demands; but we hope that you will join us in giving what you can.

Your support will have an immediate impact on our children’s learning and growth during these critical elementary years. It’s an investment in their future which is, in turn, an investment in ALL of our futures.

Thank you for your investment in our scholars!

Friends of Hancock Park School

P.S. As this campaign continues throughout the school year, we’ll actively announce and celebrate as we meet milestones that YOU make happen! Stay tuned!

Any issues with your payment or if you'd like to explore other ways to give, please email treasurer@fohps.org

Scholars, Ready! is Hancock Park Elementary's Annual Giving Campaign. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, accounting for approximately 61% of our annual fundraising income. It is our “big ask” of the year where we ask each family to donate so that we can reach our goal.

The goal for the 2024/25 Annual Giving Campaign is $250,000. The goal for the year including all fundraising and matching is $350,000.

A lot of what makes one public school distinguishable from another is the level of parental support and funding they receive to enhance their students’ experience. Our job is to close the gap between a very basic educational experience (one without additional funding) and the educational experience we want our kids to have (one with funding). In order to do that, we must raise funds to supplement our school with the staff, resources, technology and educational opportunities that are not provided for by LAUSD.
The annual giving campaign will run from Tuesday, September 3, 2024 and will end on Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

YES! Friends of Hancock Park School is a 501(c)(3) therefore your donation is a charitable contribution. Our Federal ID number is 95-4112630. After tax savings, your cost for every dollar donated can be less than a dollar!

Corporate matching is a great way to double your donation or to ask a company to match donation funds up to a certain amount (i.e., a corporation might agree to match up to $10,000 of AGC donations). This process usually starts with you, the employer, contacting HR with a request. If this is the first time your company is matching for our school, they may reach out to us for more information which we will HAPPILY provide. Corporate sponsors will receive banner recognition on the Colgate fence.
